Overview:
Basic zinc carbonate is a white amorphous powder, soluble in dilute acids and alkali, slightly soluble in ammonia and ammonium salts, and insoluble in water, ethanol, and acetone. It decomposes into carbon dioxide and zinc oxide at 300℃. Acts with H2O2 to release CO2 and form peroxide. Fluorescence can occur when heated at 250 to 500°C for different times and cooled to room temperature.
Physical and chemical properties:
Basic zinc carbonate natural mineral is called "hydrazinite" and is a white amorphous powder. Relative density 4.42~4.45. Soluble in dilute acids and alkali, slightly soluble in ammonia and ammonium salts, insoluble in water, ethanol and acetone. It decomposes into carbon dioxide and zinc oxide at 300℃. Acts with H2O2 to release CO2 and form peroxide.
application:
Zinc carbonate hydroxide can be used to make latex film products, pigments, rayon, catalytic desulfurizers, and is used in medicine as a light astringent, preservative, disinfectant and skin protectant.
